The priests of the great temple had seen many things: floods, wars, and the rising of empires. But nothing had prepared them for the morning the silver discs appeared over the Taj. They hovered silently above the minarets, casting no shadow, making no sound. The river below reflected their shapes like a second sky. The people gathered on the ghats and simply watched. No one ran. No one prayed. They had always known, somewhere deep in their hearts, that the universe was too vast to belong to them alone.
