Holding Up!

She stands with a smile so quiet and bright,
A little one growing, tucked warm and tight.
Her braid falls soft, her boots planted sure,
Her heart full of love, so steady and pure.
The world may be heavy, the days may be long,
But she holds it together, gentle yet strong.
With rosy round cheeks and a hand on her belly,
She whispers, “My darling, I’ve got you already.”
No crown on her head, no throne in a hall,
Just a white shirt, blue shorts, red boots – that’s all.
Yet she carries a miracle, soft as the dawn,
A story not finished, just beautifully begun.
So here she stands, in the green and the gold,
The bravest of tales that was ever been told –
Not holding it back, not holding it down,
Just holding it up – the most precious of crowns.
